Update on the search for river stones: Julie went to Patio Town and said they didn't have what I was looking for. So, I have been searching the internet and I found a good mosaic supplies website, MosaicTile.com, and they sell EXACTLY what I am looking for! They have smooth, flat river stone in lots of colors. It is kind of expensive, but I might get it anyway.

i think what they sell is too big. great for landscaping not for making a mosaic table. at least i found a good mosaic supplies website. that gets me thinking that maybe we should add some links to our blog for helpful crafting resources.
